It's an old government college, running since 1986. Students say it's got good programs in engineering, both for undergrads and postgrads. The campus is huge, about 220 acres, with decent facilities. Many students like the teachers, saying they know their stuff. The college has connections with companies, so job placements are pretty good. It's recognised by AICTE and linked to a big technical university. Plus, being government-funded means the fees aren't too high. Overall, students feel it's a solid choice for engineering in the region.

There are numerous scholarships provided for the students so that they may be supported financially. Along with scholarships for SC/ST and OBC, scholarships are available for economically weaker section students having a family income of less than INR 2 Lacs per year. Scholarships with a merit-based scheme up to 55% fee waiver are given for JEE, CUET, or Class XII scores. The institute makes education accessible and invites eligible students to apply for such financial aids in order to alleviate their educational costs.

The quality of food in the hostel mess at Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET) is mediocre. Hygiene standards in the preparation of food are monitored by the student representatives along with the mess supervisor. However, some students appreciate the breakfast service timing to be appropriate while others criticize that the quality does not remain constant throughout the semester, especially towards the end of the semesters. Generally, these establishments are satisfactorily capable of getting food to students where they want or need it; however, still have a gap in flavor for many students.
