There are a very few IIMs which have CAT cutoff of 85 percentile. These are IIM Nagpur, IIM Amritsar and IIM Bodh Gaya. Since these IIMs have been launched in the last decade, the cut offs are low for admission to MBA/PGP courses. Reserved category students can apply with 85 percentile in most of the IIMs as the cut off for them is much lower in comparison to General category candidates.

Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research accepts CAT scores for admission to PGDM programme. However, it is not compulsory. Aspirants with a valid score in any of the accepted entrance exams such as MAT, ATMA or CMAT can also get admission. However, mere passing the entrance test won't get admission. Candidates also need to pass selection rounds such as GDPI and WAT for admission.

CAT scores are not compulsory to get admission into Certificate/ PGCM courses at Vidya Prasarak Mandal's Institute of Management Studies. The institute releases the merit list of shortlisted candidates according to their scores achieved in their bachelor's degree, followed by GD & PI. The acceptance of CAT for admission to PGCM is not explicitly mentioned in the available sources.

The CAT cutoff involves qualifying cutoffs (lower, typically 75-85 percentile for interview and final cutoffs in which are higher .The Top IIMs will demand 98-100 percentile, while newer IIMs are 92-96. Non-IIMs like FMS, SPJIMR, and MDI are usually 94-99. Cutoffs depend on exam difficulty, applicants, and seats, and often include sectional minimums.
