Yes, CBSE renamed the compartment exams as supplementary exams based on the recommendations of NEP 2020. This was done in 2023 to offer opportunities for students to improve their performance in 10th/12th board exams. the objective was to shift the focus from simply passing the exams to enhancing overall performance.

The process for CBSE rechecking & verification 2025 has ended. Students were required to apply and pay fees to get their answer sheets rechecked or verified before the last date. From 2024-25, the Board changed the process for the rechecking/verification of their answer scripts. Students need to obtain the photocopy of their answer sheets before they decide to get them rechecked or verified. Click on CBSE 12th Important Dates 2025 to know complete details.

No, CBSE does not deduct marks for exceeding the word limit in the board exams. However, marks may be deducted for spelling mistakes and other errors in language papers.
