Hello Ravi, whatever you study is never wasted. It's always useful. For CDS a student must have passed graduation or should be appearing for graduation examination. When you will go to final year of engineering then you can apply for CDS examination. Best wishes to you.

Hello Animesh, it's very nice to know that you want to join Indian Army. Normally speaking, UPSC conducts exams twice in a year for getting commission in Army. One should be graduate or in final year of graduation to apply for CDS. The graduation should be from a UGC recognised university under any provision. It does not matter whether you have lateral or direct.
