For making career in cinematography and photography and even in video editing, you need to have sound theoretical and practical knowledge. Practical knowledge comes from practice of using video and photography equipment. Also, the media colleges specifically offering Diploma courses in concerned fields do offer both, but as the duration of course is one year the time for practical sessions sometimes turns out to be less. So, I would suggest to enroll yourself in college get as much exposure, as you can side by side assist any photographer or editor and gain practical knowledge from them.
