Hello Piyush,
With this rank, you may not get civil engineering but, you can get biotechnology in this college for sure. For civil engineering, the last year cut-off was 22K.
Package of civil engineering solely depends on the college and the hard work you put into this branch .
I hope this helps .
All the best.

I strongly advise against choosing a course on the basis of Placements. But I can tell that Civil Engineering is a good branch in terms of placements and package. To get a better Idea about the type and quality of placement you can get accurate information from old aluminies and administration itself.

Yes, as far as IITs, NITs and reputed government universities r concerned. It looks like these branches have not recovered from the effect of the recession that hit years ago. It is true that in engineering, all branches are not so profitable, some of them are managing to hold good salary in the companies, but some of them have too bad conditions in the market. Looking at a big side of the picture, many graduates are still looking for jobs and many of them satisfied with low paying jobs. This is totally clear that, the average starting pay scale of branches like Civil Engineering is too low.

If you bootlick the professors, you can get really good marks. There was this thermodynamics sir who didn't even teach at all. The curriculum was very poor. There were no Ceramics, Polymers units in detail. What is the use of naming the dept. Materials Science if you are only going to teach Metallurgy? Placements are very poor. Most of them were placed in IT companies. Only one or two in core. For GATE, you have to prepare on your own. Only a few professors li
