The Meenakshi College of Engineering was founded in 2001. Overall they have 20+ academic experience. It is a well regarded college. But might not be the best in Chennai:
- IIT MADRAS
- COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, GUINDY
- MADRAS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
- ANNA UNIVERSITY
Above are the top institutes for engineering in Chennai.

The admission process of Minakshi College of Engineering is based on the marks obtained in 12TH and through the TNEA (Tamilnadu Engineering admissions) counseling process. They do not require a separate entrance exam for admission of (B.E/B.TECH)
