All international applicants who are aiming to study at the University of Tasmania can apply for the same, directly to UTAS through the university's online application system – StudyLink. Students must fulfill all the document and visa requirements while applying to the university. Additionally, all applicants must meet the English language and GPA requirements in order to secure admission in the University of Tasmania.

The University of Tasmania does not charge any application fee for the majority of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students only need to pay the enrollment deposit after receiving an admission offer to confirm their seat at Tasmania Uni Australia.

University of Tasmania does not have any application deadlines for most of its courses and it is suggested to apply for admission at least five months prior to semester start date. International students can apply for research related courses on any day of the academic year.

In order to be eligible for a scholarship at the University of Tasmania, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be classified as an International Student as defined under the application rules of the University of Tasmania.
- Be a citizen of one of the following countries; Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudia Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam.
- Not be a student from a Transnational Education (TNE) partner affiliated with the University of Tasmania.
- Not be in receipt of a full government funded scholarship.
- Not be commencing at the University of Tas
