I recently applied to Chandigarh University, so I can share what I learned about the admission process. The university has its own entrance test called CUCET, which is required for most courses. For engineering (like B.E.), you need to have passed 12th with Physics, Maths, and one other Science subject. For BBA, BCA, and B.Com, 12th pass in any stream with at least 50% marks is usually enough. If you're going for design or architecture, subjects like Maths or drawing might be required, plus you'll need a valid NATA score for B.Arch.

Yes, B.E. students at Chandigarh University can apply for the CUET-UG scholarship, and it's actually a great option if you've already given CUET. When I was applying, I found out that CU offers scholarships based on CUET score too—not just through their own CUCET exam. If you've scored above the 90th percentile, you can get up to 50% off on your semester fees. Even if your score is between 80 and 89, you're still eligible for a 15-30% scholarship, which really helps with the overall fee. This is open to all undergraduate programs, including B.E., so engineering aspirants like me can definitely benefit from it. Just make sure you upload your CUET scorecard during admission. Yes, MBA students at Chandigarh University can definitely get scholarships through the CUCET exam. When I applied for my MBA, I also appeared for CUCET, and it turned out to be a great decision. The better you score in CUCET, the higher the scholarship you can get. For example, if you score really well—like above 90—you can get up to 100% scholarship on your tuition fees. Even if your score is slightly lower, like in the 70s or 80s, you can still get 30% to 50% off. It really helps reduce the overall fee burden, especially for a two-year programme like MBA. 

The process is simple—register for the test, appear for it, and if you qualify with a good score, the scholarship automatically applies during admission. I personally found this very helpful, and it makes CU more affordable without compromising on quality.

The cut-off for BCom at Panjab University depends on the college under its umbrella, such as DAV College, Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, or GGDSD College. In general, for top colleges, cut-offs often range between 90% to 96% for the general category. The university considers Class 12 marks, and admission is done through a centralized online counseling process. Reservation criteria are also applied for SC/ST/OBC and EWS categories. To be hired as a faculty in leading colleges and universities within Tricity (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula), the requirement is normally stringent as per the UGC guidelines. In case of Assistant Professors, a Master degree (having at least 55 percent marks in the respective subject) is necessary, and also a must to clear the NET (National Eligibility Test) or have a Ph.D. degree according to the UGC regulations (2009/2016). The candidates will require a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) and have extensive teaching/research experience (8-10+ years), with a high publication record in peer-reviewed journals, and in most cases, experience in supervising doctoral students. Other institutions such as Panjab University, PEC Chandigarh also put much significance on good academic record and prior experience in the industry.
