Universities in Finland, especially research universities, are generally known to be very selective at admitting students. However, the University of Jyvaskyla is an excpetion.

Its acceptance rate of 60%, is much higher than that of popular universities whose rates of acceptance range between 5-20%. 

Morover, both the Yrkeshogskolan Novia & Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK) have acceptance rates 53%, & 68%, respectively, per data curated from unofficial sources.

Yes, while studying at the Uni of Helsinki, international students can go for part-time work. This is applicable if the work timings comes to an average of 30 hours per week at the most. Additionally, students can adjust hours on a weekly basis as long as the average is around 30 working hours per week during the academic terms. Cost of living can be a significant factor for an international student living in Finland. According to the official wesbite of the univeristy, an indidual student require a minimum of EUR 800 (INR 78.5 K) to survive. However, it can vary greatly from one person to the another based on individual preferences and lifestyles.
