NIT Jalandhar arranges various fests and events for students. Recently, the NIT Jalandhar arranged the annual cultural fest “UTKANSH”. A lot of students belonging to various countries and states take part in this fest. Another popular fest arranged by the college is the Bharat Dhawani -Annual Foundation Day. Bharat Dhawani is the techno-managerial student fest of Jalandhar NIT. Every year, the college arranges fests including Techniti (Annual Technical Fest), Annual Athletic Fest, and others. 

Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar students feel safe inside the campus as there are CCTV cameras installed everywhere on the campus. At every exit and entry point, there are security staff available who restrict the entry of anyone who does not have an entry card or prior permission. 

NIT Jalandhar desires 100% attendance. Exception can be provided to students on account of late registration, sickness, or other such contingencies. To appear in exams, 75% of attendance is needed. A student with less than 75% of attendance in a programme during a semester will be awarded a ‘W’ Grade in that programme irrespective of his/her performance in the exams/tests.

Gujral Punjab Technical University - PIT Batala: It is considered to be one of the top 10 technical institutions in Punjab and is the state government college providing quality education, excellent campus facilities along with providing strong placement support. The university is providing quality education and, amongst the courses, B.Tech is one of the most pursued courses in terms of both education and placements. According to earlier records, the top companies used to recruit students such as Bajaj Allianz, Infosys, Indiamart, L&T, HDFC Bank, TCS, etc. The average placement package for B.Tech graduates is - 8 LPA. Successful completion of 10+2 from any recognized board with at least 45% of aggregate marks in the case of general categories or at least 40% of aggregate marks in the case of reserved categories.

As described below the admission eligibility for B. Tech at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University - Mohali Campus II is as follows:

B.Tech (Civil Engineering): One must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or equivalent subjects like Computer Science). Instead of that candidates can also have a D.Voc degree in the same or allied sector with 4 years duration.

B.Tech (Civil Engineering) Lateral Entry: Candidates who have B.Sc degree or Diploma (3 years) in the concerned stream with at least 45 percent marks (40 percent for SC/ST) are eligible. The course takes 3 years to complete.
