Admission to the MBA courses at the college is done based on the scores obtained in the Karnataka PGCET exam. Applications for the Karnatka PGCET exam generally open in the month of April and are currently closed. Admission to other courses is not based on the scores obtained in any exam, and is currently open.

Student evaluations at Impact Institute of Management Studies (IIMS) show that the hostel dining service receives a negative reception from learners. Students tend to dislike the poor food quality of both the mess and canteen services at IIMS. The substandard food quality joins other poor facilities as a continuous complaint reported by students. Reviewing the hostile food quality plays an essential role for future students because they should examine both these comments alongside current student updates when choosing IIMS housing options.
