Yes, it is possible to change your engineering stream after completing a BE and pursuing an M.Tech.
In the GATE exam, a candidate can choose any stream they want to continue in Masters Degree irrespective of their UG branch.

If you get a good score in the JEE Main, you would then have to pass the exam of JEE Advanced for admission into IIT Kharagpur. It is through the JoSAA counseling process that admission is granted based on the rank obtained in the JEE Advanced. For MBA or M.Tech or any other postgraduate degrees, you would have to qualify for tests like GATE or CAT.

Yes, IIT Kharagpur does accept GATE scores for admission to its M.Tech programme. Applicants must have a valid GATE score relevant to the discipline of their qualifying degree. In cases where there is no specific GATE paper available for a particular discipline, XE/XL/XH papers of the GATE examination can be considered. GATE is the accepted entrance exam for admission to IIT Kharagpur's M.Tech programme.
