1. For MBBS Included Under NEET-UG:Eligibility: Completing the Higher Secondary School Education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with the least of 50 per cent can qualify a candidate for taking the NEET examination. There would be a relaxation of marks for the reserved categories.
The NEET UG Examination: Candidates should apply for the NEET UG examination to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) as part of the entrance examination process. You have to clear this for qualifying.
Counseling: Counseling would be conducted for NEET-UG postulants in West Bengal by the WBJEEB. In all India quota cases, the Medical Counseling Committee conducts the counseling.
Application: After qualifying in NEET, one has to register for counseling on the respective websites (WBJEEB for State Quota or MCC for all-India quota). 
Document Verification: As soon as the allotment has been made against a seat, you will have to prove your eligibility in terms of document submission.
2. Admission for Postgraduate (MD/MS): Eligibility: You must possess an MBBS degree and complete 1-year internship. NEET-PG Exam: You should take the NEET-PG exam and qualify with a sufficient merit rank to gain eligibility for admission.
Counseling: After the NEET-PG result declaration, WBHUS would carry out the counseling for state quota seats. MCC conducts All India Quota counseling.
Application: Register for counseling on the respective websites (WBUHS for state seats or MCC for All India Quota).
Document Verification and Admission: The counseling process will include document verification and then admission.

This is how applicants can be admitted into the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER):

1. For MBBS Admission:
Eligibility: Pass in Plus Two with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology should qualify and at least 50% marks (relaxed for SC/ST/OBC) must be obtained.
NEET-UG: You need to clear the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) test and get a score within the cutoff rank for IPGMER.
Counseling: Based on the NEET-UG results, those candidates qualify for counseling that is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) or MCC for all-India quota seats.

2. For MD/MS: Postgraduate Studies Acquisition :-
Eligibility: Completion of the MBBS degree from a recognised institution and completion of a one-year internship is required of applicants.
NEET-PG: One must appear for the NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses) and score well for eligibility for counseling.
Counseling: After the results of NEET-PG, candidates must go for counseling to have their seats allocated. Counseling is conducted by WBUHS or by MCC for the all-India quota seats.
Document Verification and Admission: After selection, candidates would undergo processing of documents and the admission process. Admission will be based on performance in NEET-UG/NEET-PG among other factors, and subsequently, candidates will have to go through the relevant counseling process to stand a chance of securing a seat in IPGMER.

The steps toward getting an entry in the MBBS programme at the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER) are as mentioned below:

Eligibility :-

- A person must pass 10+2 from a recognised institution, with the first three subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- The candidate has to appear for NEET-UG exam (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses).

You should qualify for the NEET-UG with a competitive rank. Admission for MBBS is done on the basis of NEET-UG scores in IPGMER.
