Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology (SVIST) enrols undergraduate as well as postgraduate students. Undergraduate study needs Class 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, the admission being accepted on the basis of JEE Main or WBJEE2. Postgraduate study needs Bachelor's degree from any stream, the admission being accepted on the basis of MAT, CAT, or JEMAT2.

The WBJEE JELET result date of Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology is mostly in accordance with what is scheduled by WBJEEB (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board). In 2025, the JELET, which takes place around June or July, is generally expected to see results declared within two to three weeks from that date, which will be in mid to late July or early August.
