A Diploma holder can get admission to B.Tech 2nd year (lateral entry) in colleges affiliated with Kurukshetra University by applying through Haryana State Technical Education Society official site, usually based on Diploma marks or the LEET exam. However, NIT Kurukshetra does not offer lateral entry. If you want admission there, you must appear for JEE Main and apply as a regular candidate for 1st-year B.Tech through JoSAA counselling, as Diploma marks are not considered.

While preparing cutoff for the NIT Kurukshetra BTech course, the authorities will consider examination and admission-related factors. The listed factors will be checked and considered by the authorities while determining the cutoff of NIT Kurukshetra BTech - previous years' cutoff trends, difficulty level of exam, total number of qualified candidates, total number of candidates applying for a specific course or institute, number of seats available for admission, etc. After checking all of these factors, the authorities will prepare the JEE Mains cutoff for BTech admission.

The tuition fees for BTech courses at NIT Kurukshetra are INR 5 lakh,  and the tuition fees for BTech at NIT Delhi are INR 5 Lacs too. Hence, the tuition fee is the same for both NITs. So, candidates can compare both of the institutes on different factors, such as cutoff, average placement package, seats, ranking of that particular institute, affiliation, accreditation, etc. Check out the closing rank for the BTech course in both institutes in the academic year 2024 and the average placement package in the table below:
