Your rank is less but yes you can try for the NITs there are less chances for admission in NIT, but you might get a seat in CSAB special spot round.

To get NITs you have to score a good rank in JEE Mains. Admission is NITs is not based on class 12th score.

It could be better as you will get some good facilities and more opportunities due to the fact that you are in a government college.
