Alakh Prakash Goyal Shimla University offers admission to courses based on the merit of the aspirants in the last qualifying exam. The university may consider entrance exam for a few courses. Aspirants are first required to fulfil both eligibility and selection requirements to apply for a programme at APG Shimla University. Only after completion of the selection process, aspirants are offered seat in the university.

HPU admission to MBA is entrance-based. The university conducts HPU MAT is a computer-based test of two hours' duration with 200 questions. The HPU MAT exam is conducted once in a year. Below is the selection criteria for HPU MBA programme:

With a fees of approximately INR 3 Lakh, Alakh Prakash Goyal Shimla University offers industry based learning and internships starting from first semester itself. The placement records around 30 percent with the highest package of INR 5 Lacs per annum.
On the other hand, MBA at Maharaja Agrasen University cost around INR 3.27 Lacs per annum. The university recorded a placement of almost 80-90 percent since last 5 years. With the highest package being INR 8 Lacs per annum.

The results of CAT, ATMA are going to be announced anytime soon . Students can go and check the respective websites to see whether they made it to Alakh Prakash Goyal University or not . However there is no notice about when is Alakh Prakash Goyal Shimla University going to announce its exclusive cut-off score for students wanting to persue MBA from the institute.

B.Tech at Alakh Prakash Goyal Shimla University is not the best option if you are looking for a good placement. In recent years, placement in B.Tech CSE is less. While other courses are good in terms of placement, One cannot say the same for B.Tech here. Most courses are discontinued as of academic year 2023.
