At Robert Gordon University, most international students initially receive a conditional offer of acceptance. This means that RGU is happy in principle to accept the candidate to study at Robert Gordon University but they must meet certain conditions first. The most common conditions are:

• Completing an existing course (for example passing Bachelors before coming to do a Masters);
• Proving that the applicants English language is good enough for University-level study. In this case, candidates should send RGU a copy of their IELTS or TOEFL certificate as soon as it is available; and
• Making a pre-payment (deposit) for international students.

Once the applicant fulfills the conditions of their Conditional Offer, Robert Gordon University issues their Unconditional Offer, along with CAS number and statement. The UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) requires CAS numbers and statements for all student visa applications. The personal CAS number RGU issues will link directly to the UKVI database to facilitate the student's visa application. This CAS statement confirms that:

• Robert Gordon University is prepared to offer the candidate place on a course;
• Candidate has met any academic conditions that were asked of them; and
• They have paid their pre-payment of tuition fees as stated on the offer letter.

Prospective students of Robert Gordon University can apply to the institution either through Direct Applications or UCAS Applications. While applying to RGU, international students are required to full the application requirements listed below:

Undergraduate Application Requirements:

• Official copies of senior school/college certificate (if available at time of application);
• Official copies of academic transcripts of courses studied (if available at time of application);
• Statement of purpose/personal statement;
• Proof of English language Proficiency;
• Copy of Passport; and
• Evidence of Sponsorship or scholarship (if appropriate/applicable).

Postgraduate Application Requirements:

• Copy of current and up-to-date CV;
• Letters of Reference (if available);
• Statement of purpose/personal statement;
• Proof of English language Proficiency;
• Copy of Passport; and
• Evidence of Sponsorship or scholarship (if appropriate/applicable).

In order pursue higher studies from Robert Gordon University, all Indian students have to fulfill certain admission requirements. These requirements for postgraduate/master's courses consist of:

Academic Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree with a Second Class degree or an overall average of 55%+ from a recognised institution; OR
• Minimum overall average of 50% for universities of Mumbai, Delhi and Calcutta; and
• 6.0 GPA or B or 'above average' on 10 Point Scale in CBCS (Choice Based Credit System); OR
• 2.67 GPA on 4 Point Scale or B or 55%; OR
• 5.0 GPA on 7 Point or B or 55%.

English Language Requirements:

• 65% & above in All Indian State Boards - Senior Secondary and CISCE/CBSE (Year 12) – English or English Core; OR
• IELTS score: 6.5 overall  (no less than 5.5 in each band), or equivalent.

Note:

A few Robert Gordon University postgraduate programs require a minimum of second class upper classification, or an equivalent.

Applicants with lower qualification and / or relevant work experience are considered on a case by case basis.

Students who do not meet Robert Gordon University's direct entry requirements can undertake a pre-masters programme through the International College at RGU.
