The top places of origin of students were China, India, South Korea, Canada, and Taiwan. Though, from the previous year's student enrollment, in 2023, the total number of international students enrolled was slightly less. In 2022, the total number of international students enrolled at this university was 13,000+.

Boston University's athletes competes in 24 NCAA Division I varsity sports. There are around 600 athletes who compete in these sports. A few of the men's sports teams are basketball, cross-country, ice-hockey, soccer, rowing, etc. On the other hand, a few of the women's sports teams are basketball, cross-country, field hockey, golf, soccer, softball, etc.  Furthermore, the university has 37 different student-run club sports teams.
