Yes, for all new Indian students, it is important to go through an orientation program.

The orientation is mandatory for the knowledge of the student dorms and living in the US. 

Generally, international students should submit their test scores and recommendation letters as early as possible, meaning shortly after the main deadline. Given below are the guidelines for the same: 

• It should be done to ensure review of the application (ideally within 1 to 2 weeks).
• If the test scores are delayed then the self-reported scores can be considered, but for the initial review only.
• After getting the conditional letter, the applicant should submit this along with other admission requirements at Stanford.
