No, UPES School of Health Sciences and Technology is not a government college. It is a private college established under the UPES Dehradun which is accredited by NBA, IACBE, and with an A Grade by NAAC, and approved by UGC. Being a private college, the fee can be a little high but worry not the college provides scholarships to students as financial assistance.

Institute of technology and management Dehradun is the first and best college in Uttarakhand State providing pioneered IT education in Uttarakhand since 2002. It is a good option for M.Sc and also been honed as the lead and the honest Placement Provider. According to its official website ITM has been approved as a "Skill Development Partner" of the Skill India Programme of NSDC, Government of India.

The School of Petroleum Technology (SPT) at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) is known for its good placements. The top recruiters for the B.Tech programme at SPT, PDPU include ONGC, Shell, Reliance Industries, Schlumberger, Cairn India, and Halliburton.
