IIT BHU's rankings in 'Overall' category have shown a fluctuating trend as per the rankings of the previous years. In 2025, IIT BHU fell 1 rank to #31 rank in the 'Overall' category by the NIRF ranking. Throughout the preceding two years, the rank has oscillated but is currently stable.

The ranks granted to the institute in the 'Engineering' category have shown a fluctuating trend when compared to last year's rankings. In 2025, IIT BHU's rank is #10, the same as last year's rank in the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF ranking.
