BHU has become more vibrant and inclusive since the time co-education was introduced in its Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Arts. While the IIT-BHU still has a more conservative culture, BHU offers its students more freedom and facilities.
Students are free to eat at any mess of their hostel. The cost of a general diet is INR 40 - 45 per day. The cost of a special diet (served twice a week) is INR 50 - 90 per day. Students with friends at IIT have access to higher quality food.
BHU is the largest residential university in Asia, with over 70 hostels. Students ranked under 300 - 400 are easily inducted into hostels.

Hence, there are 48% of seats for the general category candidates. The information mentioned here is taken from the web and hence, is indicative.

Yes, for PG courses such as MBA and MCA, the institute accepts national-level entrance exams apart from its own exam. For MBA, students can qualify CUET/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT, all of these exams are conducted at the national-level for the selection of candidates in Management courses. Whereas for admission to MCA, students can get admission through a valid score of CUET-PG. The institute conducts SMSOET for admission to UG and PG courses.
