For Sanskrit, Hindi Geography, and Philosophy, BHU courses are preferred by the students. Banaras Hindu University and Delhi University are equivalent for the remaining subjects. For the majority of the Science stream courses, BHU is slightly ahead. BHU is ranked 6 whereas DU is placed 13 in the NIRF 2022 rankings for universities, giving BHU a clear advantage over DU in a number of areas. The Banaras Hindu University is rated 4.8 on the basis of the EDU Opinions rankings. The largest residential institution in Asia, BHU has over 30,000 students, 18,000 of whom live on campus. In the previous academic year, around 94.5% of the students were placed. The highest salary package offered at BHU this year was 28.7 LPA. The entrance exams accepted include CUET-PG and BHU PET. Candidates are required to participate in an online counselling process for provisional admission to the course(s) they have applied for, which is based on the candidates' CUET-PG scores.
