Depending on the cutoff of the year you appeared for JELET with an SC category rank of 238, chances of getting into the mechanical branch of the government colleges lie. Candidates belonging to SC category have been obtaining ranks of 150-200 in the recent years in Jadavpur University for the Mechanical engineering stream, so your rank can be little higher than the cutoffs usually observed.
