The entrance requirement for MCom at the University College of Commerce and Business Management is a BCom degree with at least 40 percent marks. SC/ST candidates are required to simply pass the degree examination. The degree must be from a recognised university. Admission is granted based on CPGET scores.

Commerce courses can be pursued at UG and PG levels. The eligibility criteria may differ as per the course and branch selected by the student. UG courses in Commerce are of three years duration whereas PG programme is of two years duration. However, given below is broad eligibility criteria for UG and PG Commerce courses in Mumbai colleges:
- UG level: Candidates can pursue a UG degree in Commerce if they have completed their Class 12 or its equivalent level of education in the Commerce stream from a recognised board. Candidates who have studied subjects such as Accounts, Mathematics and Economics, etc. are also eligible to apply.
