ABES is better than United college as in ABES the students are taking off-campus placements due to which many alumni is in the top companies and they are coming there for the recruitment therefore offering good placements.

I also had almost same rank as you 1578 (AIR_OBC). I will suggest you to select NITK Surathkal IT. Even CSE at Allahabad is also a very good option if you are from UP. So if you want to stay near to home then go for CSE at NIT Allahabad otherwise come to NITK, Surathkal in IT.

As you are interested in Mechanical engineering as well as computer Science engineering. Then, NIT Rourkela is the best option. NIT Rourkela has good opportunity for both mechanical engineering as well as computer Science engineering. But, it depends on your interest that which branch you choose. Both the branch has equal importance and holds equally best placement records. Core companies like Tata steel, Vedanta, Tata motors, Maruti - Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and many more visit our campus every year and recruit meritorious students as Graduate engineer Trainees. NIT, Trichy is one of the best institutes for CSE. It is top among the NITs and placements for CSE are pretty good here. The only issue you might have is of adjusting to the new environment. Also, Delhi is much better to live than Trichy. So take your decision considering all the facts.
