As a Higher Education institution, Cotton College has gone through several milestones from the initial phase of being under Calcutta University to the present when it is one of the full-fledged autonomous state universities of Assam. It is a Public State University established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam.
It was established in 2017 by the provisions of an Act enacted by Assam Legislative Assembly to merge the Cotton College State University and Cotton College.

You can easily apply by online portal via assam samarthGov, cuet-ug. You must have minimum 60% in 12th class physics, chemistry, math and botany. You have to get pcmb in the 12th class for getting bsc in biotechnology at cotton University.
