If you visit any Court in India, most of the litigation involves the element of Criminal Law in some form or the other. A lot of disputes today involve principles of Criminal Law. Further, looking for a financial perspective, criminal lawyers make a lot of money. I think these odd reasons are enough to highlight the benefits of pursuing a certificate or Diploma in Criminal Law. Apart from these, most of the times, the subject are not taught at length in regular classes. In such cases, the diploma and certificate courses provide invaluable and enriching depth into the subject. And most of the courses can be pursued together with the degree program. Therefore, there is no additional time that you need to pursue these courses. Further, these courses add value to your CV.
Therefore, I would any day recommend pursuing a certificate or diploma course.

I think more than the scope, the interest of an individual matter for success in a particular area of law. Let's say, for example, I am interested in Taxation Law but I I pursue criminal law after my law school. I would not be working with that zeal or enthusiasm as compared to taxation law. Therefore, according to me, the interest mattes more than the scope as you can make money under any area of law and practice.
But coming to the question, most of the areas of law are interlinked. Let's say, avoiding taxes or not disclosing proper income would be a criminal offense. So, apart from the knowledge of tax law, you would also need to know fundamentals of criminal law in order to help out your client. There are several law firms which specialize in either of these. So, if you are not looking for independent practice, you can join these. But the scope of criminal law is generally wider than tax law considering each area of law has some intersection with the criminal law in some form or the other.

Any 10+2 holders are eligible for BA/ B.Sc. Psychology as well as BA Criminology. In India, few institute only offer the course such as BA Criminology and Police Administration from University of Madras, Chepauk, Chennai as well as Annamalai University. You can study criminology as a subject in LLB too.
The duration may vary based on course. The Training and Placement Unit of the Institute is responsible for providing world class job opportunities to the undergraduate and postgraduate students after graduation for suitable jobs in the industry and various private and public sector organizations.
No institute can guarantee you placements. It's just purely based on how you utilize your abilities and skills at the right time. I would suggest you to contact the training and placement department personally for accurate numbers.
Salary is a function of various factors - i.e. (i) the institute where you have completed your B.Tech + M.Tech. e.g. a graduate from a top institute will command a higher salary. (ii) Your work experience - organization and type of work profile (iii) city - a metropolitan city will have higher salaries as compared to smaller cities and towns. (iv) Your current organization - i.e. where you will be joining - an MNC usually has higher salaries as compared to other organizations. (v) Your work profile i.e. Manager/ AVP, etc. Thus one cannot allocate a figure.
