The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has aligned with the directives of the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission by adopting the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to its Postgraduate (Master's Degree) Programs. This move, effective for the CUET (PG)-2024, streamlines the admission process for postgraduate students aspiring to join TISS or other participating universities, including Central, State, and private institutions.

Notably, TISS has extended this mandate to cover all its Postgraduate programs, encompassing disciplines such as

• Master of Arts in Human Resource Management & Labour Relations
• Master of Arts in Organisation Development, Change, and Leadership.

This centralized approach provides a single-window opportunity for candidates seeking admission to TISS and various participating institutions nationwide.

Postgraduate degrees from CUET PG are offered by central, state, regional, and private universities around the country. Compared to last year, the number of universities taking the CUET PG 2023 exam has increased. The number of universities that have embraced CUET PG has climbed to 197 this year from just 66 in 2022.

CUET PG candidates are encouraged to review all applicable eligibility requirements, including age limits, course enrollment-specific requirements, nationality requirements, and other crucial minimum eligibility requirements, before submitting their applications online. It is expected that there would be no age restriction for applicants competing in CUET (PG) 2024, in line with the pattern of the previous year. For the CUET (PG) 2024 examination, candidates who have passed the bachelor's degree or equivalent examination or who are appearing in 2024, regardless of age, may apply. Nonetheless, in order to be considered for admission, candidates must meet the age requirements specified by the university.

Under the Societies Registration Act (1860), the Ministry of Education (MoE) of the Government of India (GOI) established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustaining premier testing organisation. The NTA's purpose is to conduct international standards tests that are transparent, efficient, and measure candidates' competency for admission to elite higher education institutions. The responsibility of administering the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) for Post Graduate (PG) programmes has been delegated to the National Testing Agency (NTA). The CUET PG exam is entirely under the control of the NTA which is the conducting body; from registration to results announcement.

To ensure the seamless execution of the CUET PG examination on the ground, a Central Control Room was established. There were 162 Deputy Observers, 1083 Observers, 02 National Coordinators, 19 Regional Coordinators, and 303 City Coordinators deployed. To stop exam fraud, live CCTV surveillance was implemented in every testing facility. Additionally, the NTA set up live viewing of all exam centres' remote locations from the Control Room, which is housed on the NTA's New Delhi premises. CCTV system recording was also carried out. AI-powered Video Analytics and Virtual Observers were also used to keep an eye on the testing centres. Jammers were put in every Centre to prevent cheating via cell networks.

According to the report of NTA, approximately 8 Lacs people applied for the CUET PG 2023 Examination, which assessed students in 4597 courses using 157 different question codes.
