DCET 2022 Eligibility Criteria is given below:
Candidates must have passed Diploma or equivalent exam. Candidates with a minimum of 45% marks in the 5th and 6th semesters combined are eligible to fill the applications respectively. The minimum percentage mark for SC/ST candidates is 40%. .

Hi. Yes you can. After completing Diploma from Mechanical Engineering you are eligible to purser BE in Computer Science and Engineering.

This exam is perhaps a must for lateral admission. However, some colleges may admit students in the lateral mode under the management quota without this exam.
