The eligibility varies from institute to institute. You need to have subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Economics. Generally you must have graduated in economics and you must have scored 55% aggregate marks after that you are eligible for Masters programme. So, first decide on the college and after that check there eligibility and apply.

St. Xavier's College, Mumbai is one of the best college to pursue economics. It only provides B.A in economics. Full as well as part majors in economics and statistics.
The criteria for admission is nothing expect the merit list. The percentage cut off for B.A economics ranges from 98%-96% for general non Christian students.

BA (Hons) in economics and B.Sc (Hons) economics degrees are not very different. In Delhi, Economics is considered as a BA programme. In Kolkata, any honours stream which has Maths as a compulsorily subject is considered for B.Sc.
