The central and state government exams for admission into government colleges include JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) and the state exams like TANCET, WBJEE, MH-CET, etc.
While BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEE are private college exams.

The dates for registration vary every year. But, generally the registration would commence by the end of November or from the beginning of December.
The last dates may extend for a month or more.
So, it is advisable to follow up every University's website periodically, so that you may not miss the dates.

There are many subjects and this is totally your choice in which subject you are good or by a hard labour you make it strong and complete the exams syllabus so choose a subject on your own.

Mainly 2 more years you can take the exams of engineering after your class 12th. This means that you have 3 chance for your engineering entrance exams but in medical, you can take the entrance exam till the age of 25.
