SVKM's Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic, Mumbai, doesn't offer B.E./B.Tech programs, but for Diploma courses, required documents include: 10th standard mark sheet (35 percent in aggregate), Passing certificate of SSC of the candidate, Leaving certificate, Birth certificate, Aadhaar card, Domicile certificate for Maharashtra students if any, caste certificate for reserved category candidates if any, income certificate for economically weaker section students if any, physically handicapped certificate if applicable. Also, 5-6 passport sized photographs and photocopies of documents are necessary along with routine documents. Candidates are expected to come with original documents.

It is worth to say that SVKM's Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic situated in Mumbai is not providing B.E./B.Tech programs at all, they are providing only Diploma in engineering and technology. For Diploma admissions, there is criterion fixing for 35% of marks in 10th standard with passing in Mathematics, Science & English subjects. The admission process depends on the CAP which is conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Form, Documents/ Certificates, Counseling, and Allotment of the seat. Each year the institute has 720 seats distributed over 15 Diploma courses, of which 80% are open to students from Maharashtra state and 20% open to students from other parts of India, usually held between June and July.

Through Management Quota one can get admission to B.E. / B.Tech in Solamalai College of Engineering (SCE) without TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions). Though TNEA is the primary admission process for students to enter through the government quota, the college admits students through the management quota, where the student's selection is purely based on candidate 10+2 marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects, and in some cases, even through an internal assessment of the institution. During the Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering B.E. / B.Tech application process, documents that are mandatory are as follows:
10th Standard Marks Card:- Certificate to verify completion of secondary school.
12th Standard Marks Card:- Certificate to confirm an end or passing of higher secondary school course with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Transfer Certificate:- Issued by the last institution attended.
Migration Certificate:- Actually Required if coming from outside Gujarat.
Entrance Exam Score card:- JEE Main or GUJCET Scorecard, whichever is applicable for admission.
Caste Certificate: In case one has to claim any reservation benefits, when so issued.
Passport-sized Photographs: Usually 4-6 passport sized recent photographs.

Svkm's Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic Mumbai admission to Diploma courses is done on the following basis. Candidates must have cleared their MSBSHSE or any other equivalent exam, with 35% pass in aggregate as well as in specifically prescribed subjects namely Mathematics, Science, and English. It is an under graduate college affiliated to the University of Pune where admission is taken through CAP with 80 % of total intake seats for students belonging to Maharashtra state and 20% for outside Maharashtra state. Reservation follows government norms: SC 13%, ST 7%, OBC 19%, and EWS 10%. Document verification as well as counseling only happen after CAP registration.
