Oriental University provides an option of lateral entry admission to its BTech programmes. The duration of this course is three years as the candidates are admitted directly to the second year (third semester) of the BTech programme. To be eligible for lateral entry admission for the BTech programme offered at the university, applicants must have passed a three-year Diploma or a BSc degree from a university recognised by the UGC. The applicants must have passed Class 12 with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

BTech is one of the most popular among the programmes offered at Oriental University. Based on the Oriental University reviews given by students on Shiksha.com, not many company visit the campus for placement. Only a few companies, with job opportunities for students purusing BTech in CSE, ECE and IT streams were invited to the campus.
