The COMEDK UGET is a computer-based online exam, and you won't have access to an on-screen calculator either. Hence, you cannot bring a calculator to the COMEDK UGET exam centre. Electronic devices of any kind are strictly prohibited in the exam hall. However, rough sheets will be provided for you to do any necessary calculations during the exam.

The COMEDK UGET exam is conducted in three shifts for the 2024 exam year. Earlier it was conducted in two shifts. This is a change from previous years where it was held in two shifts. The shift timings are:
- Shift 1: 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
- Shift 2: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Shift 3: 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM

There are a total of 125 questions in the VITEEE exam. This exam has in total five sections. These sections are as follows: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, Aptitude, and English. The number of questions in each section varies, but there is no negative marking so it's in your best interest to attempt all of the questions.

The weightage given for each topic in the IPU CET for Lateral Entry to B.Tech course for Diploma Holders is as follows:
- Applied Mechanics (25%)
- Applied Mathematics (25%)
- Computer Awareness and
- Physics/Chemistry Knowledge (25%)
- Analytical and Logical Reasoning (25%)
This means that all four sections contribute equally to your final score in the IPU CET for Lateral Entry to B.Tech.

The marking scheme of MET exam is as follows
For Multiple Choice Questions:
- 4 marks will be given for every correct answer
- 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer
For Numerical Answer Type Questions:
- 4 marks will be given for every correct answer
- No marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
