The admissions in College of Engineering Roorkee are done through counseling and seat allotment procedure of all the GATE qualified applicants. The applicants who have not qualified GATE will have to appear for the College entrance Test/Counselling. Apart from the Gate criteria, the Candidates who have qualified UKSEE examination on merit basis and have passed B.Sc. examination with Mathematics as one of the subject and securing minimum 60% marks in Diploma in Engineering or Equivalent Examination, only are eligible for direct admission in second year.

There is no precise information regarding the placements at National Institute of Electronics ans Information technology. Though the institute has a placement rating of 7.9/10.
It provides good placements to students in CSE (Computer Science &Engineering) and ECE (Electronics &Communication Engineering). Aproximately 90-95% of students who are eligible for placements gets laced with good packages. In previous years, the highest package was around 55 LPA on campus and 65 off campus.

COER will provide you all the opportunity to make your future bright in terms of academic, placement, infrastructure, management and in other curriculum also. COER has a very good rank in terms of best academics and placements by the Times of India. Approximately 95% Students are placed. Average package from college is 3.5 to 5 lacs. The institute is fully equipped with all the instruments in their respective department labs. There is siemens lab which gives a great platform for the students. Here you can find a very friendly environment between students and faculty members of all the departments.

To join the National Institute of Electronics and Information Techology (NIT, Agartala) also known as Tripura Engineering College, the students must follow the following guidelines:-
- First of all the candidate need to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and secure a merit list rank on the basis of marks obtained in this examination.

The placement cell is active and helpful. The highest salary package offered is 18 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA. Companies like TCS, Infosys, etc., visit the college. Top roles offered were of Software Engineer, Software Developer, Data Analysis, etc. The top recruiter is Wipro. The placement cell helps students to get the best opportunities. College of Engineering Roorkee has a good placement record. Nearly all students in technical courses are placed even one semester before the completion of the course. Around 70-80% of students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 18 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA. Around 60-70% of students got internships. The placements in BTech CSE department are better. The average package is around 3.30 Lacs per annum. Many companies have visited the institute and recruited its students. This includes companies like Infosys, Wipro, HSBC, Deloitte, Vivo and many other companies. The average package for BTech ECE is comparitively low around 2 Lacs per annum.

The placements are good at COER - Roorkee. Approximately 70% to 80% of the students get placed. The lowest package is INR 2 LPA and the highest package in this year is INR 13 LPA. Approximately 45% students got internship through off campus. Top packages were from CSE department. Top roles offered were of Software Engineer, Software Developer, Data Analysis, etc.
