No, IIITDM Kancheepuram does not have Home State quota for admission to the BTech course specialisations. Like all the other central government-funded Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), admission is completely based on the All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main, and all seats are filled through the JoSAA counselling process.

Yes, getting ECE at IIIT Kalyani is achievable if you belong to the General AI category. According to the IIIT Kalyani BTech cutoff 2025, the overall range for the General AI category fell between 39257 and 73412 for this course. Hence, chances of admission are good for this category.

Please note that other categories, quotas, etc., will have different qualifying cutoffs.

The best way to prepare for MHT CET 2026 is through the official syllabus. The authorities have already provided the detailed syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Additionally, students must attempt the free MHT CET mock test prepared and released by the authorities. Candidates can also practice the MHT CET 2026 sample papers by Shiksha for comprehensive preparation.

For any question, if none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or dropped, then full marks will be awarded to all candidates irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

For Maths, each question is worth 2 marks and for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each question is worth 1 marks.

The MHT CET exam has 3 papers- Maths, Physics & Chemistry, and Biology. However, there are only 2 sections in the exam. For the PCM group, the two sections are Paper 1 (Maths) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). For the PCB group, the two sections are Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry) and Paper 3 (Biology).

As per the MHT CET 2026 exam pattern, the test will be conducted in online mode (CBT) having only MCQs. The exam consists of three papers (PCM/PCB) with 90 minutes each, totalling 100 marks per paper. There is no negative marking. Mathematics questions are worth 2 marks each, while Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are worth 1 mark each.

The CET Cell will now conduct the MHT CET exam twice a year, similar to the JEE Mains exam. With this, the authorities aim to provide candidates another chance to improve their scores without wasting a year.

Biology or Paper 3 is not compulsory for PCM group students, though it will be tested for the PCB group aspirants. Thus, it is important to choose your subjects carefully, depending on the course you seek admission into. Candidates can also apply for both groups, thus making biology compulsory in such a case.
