The Union Public Service Commission mention the Ethics syllabus in the IAS notification. The candidates can see below the IAS main Ethics syllabus as mentioned in the official notification:

• Ethics and Human Interface: Essence, determinants and consequences of Ethics in-human actions; dimensions of ethics; ethics - in private and public relationships. Human Values - lessons from the lives and teachings of great leaders, reformers and administrators; the role of family society and educational institutions in inculcating values. 
• Attitude: Content, structure, function; its influence and relation with thought and behaviour; moral and political attitudes; social influence and persuasion. 
• Aptitude and foundational values for Civil Service, integrity, impartiality and nonpartisanship, objectivity, dedication to public service, empathy, tolerance and compassion towards the weaker sections. 
• Emotional intelligence: Concepts, and their utilities and application in administration and governance. 
• Contributions of moral thinkers and philosophers from India and the world. 
• Public/Civil service values and Ethics in Public administration: Status and problems; ethical concerns and dilemmas in government and private institutions; laws, rules, regulations and conscience as sources of ethical guidance; accountability and ethical governance; strengthening of ethical and moral values in governance; ethical issues in international relations and funding; corporate governance. 
• Probity in Governance: Concept of public service; Philosophical basis of governance and probity; Information sharing and transparency in government, Right to Information, Codes of
• Ethics, Codes of Conduct, Citizen's Charters, Work culture, Quality of service delivery, Utilization of public funds, and challenges of corruption.

According to the official website of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), the Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics (PGDMLE) is a one-of-a-kind hybrid education programme that has been offered continuously since 1999. The programme aims to introduce learners to the linkages between the fields of law and health in order to assist them in taking informed, legally sound decisions and developing more ethical healthcare policies. The programme is spread across one year and gives learners the flexibility to design their own learning pathway. The total fees for the programme are Rs. 50,500 .

On the other hand, the Diploma in Environmental Law is a one-year programme that aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework governing environmental protection and management in India. The programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to address the complex legal issues related to environmental protection and management. The total fees for the programme are Rs. 30,000 .

Both programs have an excellent track record in terms of placements. However, the official website of NLSIU does not provide any information about the placement rate of these programs.

If you're making your decision solely based on placement prospects, the Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics may have slightly better placement opportunities compared to the Diploma in Environmental Law.
