No, CUET is not the only entrance examination that Somaiya Vidyavihar University considers for admissions to BSc courses. The university also accepts the scores of other entrance examinations such as SVU ET and MAH CET. However, the acceptance of entrance examination scores differs according to the BSc specialsiation selected by the students, such as for BSc in Data Science, the MAH CET entrance exam is accepted by SVU Mumbai.
Note: This information is not definite because the university can change the admission guidelines and process according to the circumstances.

The General Aptitude (GA) section carries 15 marks in total with 5 questions of 1 mark each and 5 questions of 2 marks each.

The GATE 2026 general aptitude section comprises of the following -
- Verbal aptitude - Basic English Grammar (Tenses, Articles, Adjectives, Prepositions, Conjuctions, Verb-Noun Agreement and other parts of speech)
- Basic Vocabulary - Words, Idioms, and Phrases in context, reading and comprehension, and narrative sequencing.
- Quantitative Aptitude - Data Interpretation: Data Graphs (Bar graphs, pie charts, and other graphs representing data), Two and Three dimensional plots, Maps and Tables Numerical Computation and Estimation: Ratios, Percentages, Powers, Exponents and Logarithms, Permutations and Combinations, and series Mensuration a

No marks are deducted for skipping a question in MAT exam. If you do not attempt a question, you will be marked 0 for it. There is negative marking in MAT for wrong attempts, so candidates must rather skip the question than make guess work. It is not mandatory to attempt all the questions in MAT, so there is no pressure.
