Fergusson College offers admission to full time three year B.A. Course. The application to the B.A. Course is completely done online. The B.A. Degree is offered in 16 specializations. These are Economics, English French, Geography, German, Hindi History, Marathi, Mathematics (Industrial), Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, Statistics (Applied), Logic
The minimum eligibility requirement is to have passed 10+2 in any stream. The admission is based on merit. Fergusson College B.A. Placement:
The Career Facilitation Centre (CFC) supports the training and placements of students at Fergusson College. CFC organizes interaction with industries with a focus on skill development of students, research and development, industrial training, internships, and campus to corporate programs. 2 Mobile DNA elements
Transposable elements in bacteria, IS elements, composite transposons, replicative and non-replicative transposons, Mu transposition, p-elements, Controlling elements in TnA and Tamil Nadu 10 transposition. SINES and LINES, retrotransposons
3 DNA damage and Repair
Types of DNA damage, DNA repair mechanisms- nucleotide excision repair, base

4 Recombination
Homologous and site-specific recombination, models for homologous
recombination- Holiday junction, NHEJ

5 DNA Replication and Regulation
DNA polymerases and mechanisms of DNA replication in prokaryotes and
eukaryotes
DNA replication models, connection of replication to cell cycle, Gene amplification (rRNA)
Reverse Transcriptase
6 Gene Expression and Regulation in Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes
Transcription: Basic mechanism in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. RNA Polymerases, pseudo-ORFs
Chromatin remodeling in relation to gene expression, DNase hypersensitivity, DNA
methylation. Regulation of transcription including transcription factors. Post-transcriptional processing and transport of RNA. Non coding RNAs, organisation and structure-function of ribonucleoproteins (Ribonome concept).
7 Protein Synthesis and Regulation
Components of protein synthesis, Mechanism of protein synthesis, Genetic code, codon usage, Regulation of protein synthesis.

Fergusson College was established by the Deccan Education Society in 1885 in Pune. The college received the status of the College of Excellence in 2017 and Special Heritage Status in 2014 by UGC. It is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).
Fergusson College offers a three-year bachelor's degree in various specializations of Arts and Science.
For admission to these courses, candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Examinations. For B.Sc courses, the qualifying examination must be passed in the Science stream.
Selection Criteria:
The college issues three merit lists for admissions.
Candidates must bring original and scanned copies of relevant documents at the time of admission.

Dear aspirant,
MIT-WPU and Fergusson, Pune are well-reputed institutes for pursuing a degree in FYBA. Both are top-notch institutes in Pune, Maharashtra. According to me, Both the colleges are good enough when it comes to quality education and placements. But, if you ask me I would prefer Fergusson to MIT-WPU. Because Most importantly, If you join any of these two college first thing that matter is the Return of Investment (ROI) of the college you will automatically get to know that it is worth spending your money and time in Fergusson Pune Fees structure is quite decent and affordable. On the other hand, MIT is quite expensive because it is a Deemed University! No doubt It provides the best exposure.
