Some of the roles that I can think ( to begin with )of for IT sector are:
Developer, testing engineer, network engineer, hardware engineer, system analyst, web developer, web designer, Tech support, quality teams, DBA. On the other hand there are people who have their careers in business analysis, or as a technical trainer, business development specialist. Upon a couple of years of experience, you could change your role, or move onto leader position in the same ladder too.

Savitribai Phule Pune University has officially renamed BCA as BBA (Computer Applications)
And for admissions, you don't have to give any entrance exam, you just need at least 50% marks in your HSC or 10+2 equivalent course from any branch. Just go to the college and take admission!
Since BCA is course in the field of computer application in which you learn about different type of programming languages, Network and security, Database! You want to be a software developer then you can go for BCA after BCA there are many scope to be a software developer!
You must have the matching skills for the same!

If you want to design software that interacts with people, then you'll be designing processes that implement that interaction. A process is a sequence of steps that alter some part of the world. You model a process with an algorithm.
The richer the algorithms you can design, the richer the processes you can model in your interaction, and the richer the interaction will be. Ergo, you want to be able to design rich, complex algorithms that express interesting ideas. The language of algorithms in mathematics. Basics of Mathematics should be good. Mathematics is the language of designs. Mathematics provides the modelling of a concept. Programming comes after Mathematics. For example, once you know that 2 plus 2 is 4, then try to model this using tools of programming, say, tools in FORTRAN77 you adjust with the statement or concept. More difficult the statement or concept more is the difficulty in writing the code. Regards.
