You find the GAT-B ( Graduate Aptitude Test - biotechnology) syllabus on the offical website of NTA ( National Testing Agency) website and the syllabus also available on the Regional Centre for Biotechnology. The syllabus are divided into two sections A and B. In sectionA cover fundamental subject at the 10+2 level including Biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics.and In section B Focus on advanced topics like Biotechnology and Life Science at graduate level.

Yes, there is negative marking for the questions asked in the GAT-B exam. For wrong attempt 1 mark will be deducted. Instructions will be displayed at the time of attempting the question paper.

If any question in GAT-B exam is incorrect, but option is correct, then full marks will be given to applicants who have attempted that particular question.

Candidates can check section "B" exam pattern and marking scheme below -

  • Consists of MCQs at graduate level
  • Questions are asked from basic biology, life sciences, biotechnology, etc.
  • A total of 100 questions will be available, out of which candidates have to attempt 60 questions.
  • Each correct answer carry 3 marks, with a negative marking of 1 mark.

The section "A" of the GAT-B includes questions of 10+2 level in the subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology). On the other hand, the GAT-B section "B" syllabus includes subjects (Basic Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, and allied areas). Candidates must check the syllabus properly.

National Testing Agency conducts GAT B exam online. Candidates will receive city intimation slip and hall ticket GAT-B a few days before entrance test.

The National Testing Agency releases GAT-B exam pattern along with exam dates and official notification. The entrance test is conducted once a year. The mode of entrance test is online with a time duration of three hours. The question paper has two sections- with basis of physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, allied sciences, etc.
