But just joining an institute is not okay.
You have to work hard, keep practising maths problems, logical reasoning, English grammar and all.
As you said, you are in the 2nd year so first, you have to focus on your graduation that is also important, start preparing for CAT in last year or I would advise you to after B.gain 1-2 years of work experience after B.Tech and then go for MBA as it would be better for your admission and placements.

Understand one thing that you will have all the material available to you, books, notes, classes, online tutorials, question banks, previous year questions. Whatever is required to get a good rank in GATE probably you will be having all those contents with you and so as other students too. So the question come where it is decided who will excel or not? Here few tips for GATE preparation
1. Preparation time for GATE depends on many factors, such as individual's aptitude, attitude, fundamentals, concentration level, etc.
2. Generally, rigorous preparation for four to six months is considered good, but it may vary from student to student
3. Candidate should refer to the syllabus and analyse the exam pattern using previous years' papers and prepare accordingly
4. It is important to know what to study, but it is more important to know what not to study

It's absolutely essential to have a dream. What's yours? Job? M Tech? PhD? Once you have dream, work towards it's achievement. But you should have plan B ready also. I feel you look for job and prepare for GATE also.
