There are heaps of resources that can inch you toward preparing for GATE. Some of the best books for specific subjects include :-

1. *Inorganic Chemistry* :- by JD Lee "Inorganic Chemistry".

2. *Environmental Science & Engineering*: "Introduction to Environmental Engineering and Science" by Gilbert M. Masters.

3. *Mathematics and Engineering Mathematics*: such as "Higher Engineering Mathematics", published by B.S. Grewal, and attract attention.

Also, you must solve the previous year question papers because they are an important way to know about the pattern and level of the exam. Download question papers from official GATE sites.

To begin with GATE Computer Science paper preparation, candidates must thoroughly glance through GATE Computer Science syllabus. The syllabus outlines the topics and sub-topics that candidates need to prepare for the exam. After going through GATE CS syllabus, candidates must figure the topics that have the maximum weightage in the exam. Candidates must focus on preparing those topics. GATE is a national-level examination that aims to evaluate the knowledge and aptitude of candidates in preparation for admission to engineering and management programmes. The GATE Exam has three major sections: General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and the Core subject the candidate has opted for. The Engineering mathematics syllabus is almost same for every paper however, in some paper some topics may be added or removed from the given syllabus as per the requirement of the specific subject. In GATE Exam, 10 questions will be asked form General Aptitude section, Candiates will have 5 questions of 2 marks each, and 5 questions of 1 mark each. Intotal there will be 10 question for 15 marks.

Yes, IITs offer some seats to sponsored students. Those students who are sponsered by their employer or organisation can take admission to M.Tech courses without attending GATE exam. However for unsponsered candidates it is mandetory to take GATE exam in order to get admission to M.Tech courses.
