GATE is a national-level examination that aims to evaluate the knowledge and aptitude of candidates in preparation for admission to engineering and management programmes. The GATE Exam has three major sections: General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and the Core subject the candidate has opted for. In GATE Exam, 10 questions will be asked form General Aptitude section, Candiates will have 5 questions of 2 marks each, and 5 questions of 1 mark each. Intotal there will be 10 question for 15 marks.

Yes, IITs offer some seats to sponsored students. Those students who are sponsered by their employer or organisation can take admission to M.Tech courses without attending GATE exam. However for unsponsered candidates it is mandetory to take GATE exam in order to get admission to M.Tech courses.
