Astrophysics is really a specialized branch of physics and the knowledge of certain areas of physics is a must. Done your graduation in engineering in a civil branch which is not actually related to physics or definitely astrophysics. Hello Suraj, yes fundamentally speaking students with M.Sc. Qualification haben allowed to appear for GATE which is the gateway examination for admission into post graduation in engineering. This examination in the year 2021 is going to be conducted by IIT Mumbai. But it seems that you are a bit late as the date for registration is already over.
