The alumni network at the Graduate Institute of Business Studies (GIBS) plays a highly active role supporting current students with job placements. There is a good number of alumni who work as mentors, sharing career development advice and their wisdom of the industry. There are also good referrals made by alumni to job opportunities at businesses in which they work. GIBS calls on alumni to help in placement drives and events, acting as a bridge between students and industry. Their affiliation provides both credibility and confidence for students. Gitarattan International Business School (GIBS) generally is stronger in placement than that of Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies (TIAS). GIBS also has a better brand position and industry interface, usually leading to placements in premium companies, especially in financial, marketing, and human resource sectors. The salary packages at GIBS are also relatively higher on average than at TIAS. TIAS also provides placement assistance, although its placement rate and the packages offered are more mediocre. Both institutes have a placement cell, but the overall placement record of GIBS is more fruitful.
