Candidates must have Passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination (before 2025 or appearing in 2025) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and must have obtained mentioned marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to PwD category and mentioned OBC category consist of OBC-A & OBC-B categories) taken together in .

GCECT accepts candidates who graduated from 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum mark of 45% (40% for reserved categories). Students enter GCECT through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and proceed with counseling that selects students based on their obtained rankings.
